Australian borders are open for international students from December 1, 2021. However, with recent outcomes of the latest COVID variant Omicron virus, Australia has put a temporary pause in this decision. The decision is temporary until December 15, 2021. While the borders are open, Nepali students who have Australian student visas can also travel to Australia. Students who are travelling to Australia need to comply with the Australian Government rules and regulations before travelling to Australia from Nepal.

Travelling to Australia from Nepal after December 15, 2021.
The Australian Government has recently paused its previous decision of opening its borders. The decision has certainly come after the new COVID variant OMICRON has hit the world, specially from South Africa. No one can predict what happens next. As per the Government of Australia, it is continuously monitoring the impact of the new Omicron variant of coronavirus. They are working to manage the risk of this new variant with the health agencies in Australia. So it is unlikely that the borders will close again. We can just finger cross and wait for the final decision.
Let’s hope borders will reopen again after this temporary pause until December 15, 2021. There are many international students who already have airline tickets to travel to Australia. Many of our students are also affected with this temporary pause decision. We will keep updating the latest updates from the Australian Government regarding the travel to Australia as an international student.

Complete this before travelling to Australia from Nepal.
Australia had previously opened its borders for fully vaccinated international students and others. As a Nepali student going to Australia, you need to meet this criteria. Here in this post we are describing each step that you must complete before travelling to Australia.
First Step:
You must be fully vaccinated and you must have proof of it. Vaccine card that you get while vaccinating is not going to work. You need to get the vaccine certificate with QR code. Getting a vaccine certificate with QR code is pretty simple.
Visit ONLINE VERIFICATION FOR VACCINATION IN NEPAL and fill out all the details. Please remember that you need 1. your citizenship, 2. your recent PP photo and 3. Vaccination card that you get while vaccinating.
Please note that the name should exactly match in your vaccine certificate and in your passport. And a minimum 7 days must have passed since your final dose of vaccination. Almost all the vaccines that were provided in Nepal are approved to travel to Australia as an international student.
Second Step:
You must provide a negative PCR report tested within 72 hours of entering Australia.
This is also pretty simple. You can get the PCR testing in the arrival area of Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
Third Step:
The final step is to fill the Australia Travel Declaration.
Visit AUSTRALIA TRAVEL DECLARATION website and follow the necessary steps.
You will need to provide your flight details, your contact details, and your health status. It will simply help to make sure and contact tracing to keep the Australian community safe.
